How to arrange the ancillary facilities of ductile iron pipelines

According to the requirements of ductile iron pipeline layout, operation management and hydraulic transition process analysis results, determine the setting, type and quantity of flow regulating and pressure regulating facilities, maintenance valves, drain valves, ventilation valves and other facilities. Various valve parts should meet the following conditions:
1. All valve parts should be installed in the valve chamber (well). The valve chamber (well) shall meet the valve operation, maintenance space requirements and overall stability requirements.
2.The valve chamber (well) located below the groundwater level shall be waterproofed and meet the anti-floating requirements.
3. Valve chambers (wells) in cold areas should take necessary antifreeze measures.
4. Vent valve wells should be provided with vent holes.

Combined with terrain conditions and operation management requirements, it is advisable to set up a maintenance valve chamber (well) every 5-10km on the ductile iron pipeline. Overhaul valves can be set according to relevant requirements for crossing rivers (canals), railways, and high-grade highways. Ventilation facilities and maintenance manholes should be arranged before or after the maintenance valve, and the two should be arranged in combination.

Ventilation facilities shall be provided at the high point or uplift point and the long flat section of the pressure water pipeline. Ventilation facilities should be installed at intervals of about 1km in gentle pipe sections. If necessary, the layout of multi-ventilation facilities should be adjusted in combination with the hydraulic transition analysis results.

Drainage valve wells should be installed in the low-lying places of the water conveying ductile iron pipeline, and the number and diameter of the drainage valve should be determined by calculating the self-drainage capacity of the ductile pipeline system and the emptying time of the pipe section.
Inspection holes should be set at necessary positions on the straight section of the water delivery nodular ink pipeline with a pipe diameter greater than or equal to DN1000. The inspection holes should be arranged in combination with ventilation facilities, and the hole diameter should be 800mm.
When it is necessary to adjust the pressure and flow of ductile iron pipes for pressurized water delivery, a flow regulating valve can be installed at an appropriate position. It is advisable to arrange maintenance valves, flow measuring and pressure measuring facilities in front of the valves.
